A Walk In the Mountain With Julie

This video is called A walk in the mountain with Julie by Sébastien Abes. Out of all of the video and motion work that I’ve been consuming, this stuff has really captured my imagination.

The subtle emotions that are hinted through syncing music with vivid natural experiences, such as opening your eyes (when the video begins), or when the video speeds up to blur motion. Towards the end of the piece, notice the subtle digital undertones… It’s great.

Hmmmm. I realize that I have indeed seen this before. And even watching it the second time, I find that it is, although quite beautiful and visually stimulating, a bit uninspired (artistically), as it simply captures what is natural and already there. So, maybe in that regard, it is inspired?…OH, now I have really dug myself into a hole.

Either way, it does light the fire in me to head out on an early morning nature walk someday soon. Whose with me?

It truly bring me peace… This piece ;)

Seeing as how it’s 8:33am when you wrote that comment, maybe you are unable to synch with the rhythm of the video? It may be a little too laid back for anybody at 8:30am.

Uninspired? Definitely not. Capturing? For sure. But, sometimes meeting or seeing a piece of art, is like seeing a family member, or meeting a stranger. Sometimes your paths just don’t meet up.

I’m sure once you see this in the state of mind, you’ll understand the beauty.
