Top Roblox Game Ideas List for Beginners of 2021

Posted on

Roblox is revealing its top games of all time, and it says that each one of them has been played more than a billion times. Roblox’s games are accessible in its virtual world, and they have reached a huge level of engagement with its mostly kid and teenage audience, with 100 million monthly active users in 200 countries. Those fans spend more than a billion hours in the Lego-like online gaming world per month.

Roblox isn’t simply another Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) title, it’s a platform that lets its users “create adventures, play games, roleplay, and learn with friends.” Everyone gets their own virtual toolbox to create their own Roblox games, powered by the easy-to-use, lightweight programming language, Lua. The result is a huge range of the best Roblox games that look similar to their blocky, Lego-esque aesthetic. Thankfully, then, there are options to filter games by genre and popularity.

Once you’re in, you create your own avatar that stays with you across each Roblox game. Want to wear a white top hat as you start your new job at a virtual pizza company? You can. Or, how about Doge’s head, suspended in thin air beside you as you dive into the tranquil Quill Lake? With Roblox games, you do you.

  • Theme Park Tycoon 2

Much like the beloved Rollercoaster Tycoon series, Theme Park Tycoon 2 lets you construct and manage an amusement park, setting you on a path towards infinite riches. From adrenaline-pumping thrill rides to relaxing fares of carousels and teacups, customize your park with these attractions, all while spending your profits on sprucing up the place with trees, fences, and furniture. While Theme Park Tycoon 2 doesn’t allow you to build the wacky twists, turns, and dips of a rollercoaster that Rollercoaster Tycoon is so known for, there is plenty more to hold your attention in this Roblox version.

  • Adopt Me!

Earlier this year, Adopt Me! broke new ground, attracting hundreds of thousands of concurrent players (over 500,000 at one point, which is a record for any game on the Roblox platform) when the game was updated with a new feature release: adopting pets. Just about any time you check in on this, you’ll see over 100,000 users playing together: adopting pets, designing their own homes, exploring Adoption Island, and more.

The creator’s Bethink (creative director) and NewFissy (tech director) have been playing on Roblox for many years, but a few years ago, they started experimenting with game development. Adopt Me! was a fast success (they made it in 2017), and the creators believe that encouraging adoption in the virtual world can have an impact on the real world. New pets to adopt come with every new release, including turkeys in the Thanksgiving update and bees.

  • Tower Defense Simulator

Like most tower defense games, the premise of Tower Defense Simulator is straightforward: prevent enemies from encroaching your base by setting up defenses along the path. But in typical Roblox fashion, you can collaborate with other players to stem the tide of enemies. Beginning with two basic units – snipers and scouts – you can purchase more towers as you earn coins from winning rounds across various maps. However, these upgrades are essential as enemies become increasingly stealthy. There is also a versus mode, where players can compete against each other, either solo or in teams.

  • PIGGY

The name Piggy might sound like a game where you frolic in a meadow with a friendly swine, but the reality couldn’t be more different. In this horror game, you’ve got to escape ‘Piggy’ a baseball bat-wielding pig who will hunt you throughout the building you’re trapped in. Your only hope is discovering the true origin of Piggy before the beast hunts you down and beats you senseless – fun for all the family! If this sounds like your kind of game, see our Roblox Piggy guide.
